Crealis‘ Sustainability Report 2025 recounts a year of profound transformation for the company: product innovation, investments in renewable energy and increasing focus on people and customers.

Among the most significant results is the sharp increase in the use of electricity from renewable sources, which has risen from 18% to 42% of the Group’s total needs, thanks to investments in photovoltaic production, process electrification and energy efficiency. These initiatives have contributed to a 24% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions (direct and indirect emissions related to purchased energy) compared to 2024 and reinforce the goal of building a lower-carbon future.

Alongside environmental aspects, the report highlights the role of innovation. In 2025, Crealis expanded its portfolio of low-environmental-impact solutions by developing products that utilize recycled materials, lightweight components, and alternative materials. Innovations include the Virtuo recycled-tin capsule and the TOP-L cork liner for crown caps — both of which enable significant carbon footprint reductions1 compared to conventional products — as well as the Green Tech line. The latter offers solutions featuring recycled content and alternative materials, such as the Symbiosis large-format capsule; made primarily from paper laminated with aluminum, it exemplifies a design that combines aesthetics, technical performance, and sustainability.

Attention has also been focused on people, yielding positive results: a 9% reduction in workplace accidents and ISO 45001 certification (the international standard for occupational health and safety management systems) for five of the eight European production sites. The launch of the first Group-wide Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) survey provided valuable insights into employee engagement and future priorities regarding leadership and talent development.
Alongside the ongoing strengthening of the safety culture, efforts to enhance supply chain responsibility are also continuing; 81% of strategic suppliers have signed the Crealis Code of Conduct, and 20 strategic suppliers have been assessed based on ESG criteria.
- (*) The reported 61% reduction in carbon footprint is based on a comparison between a conventional TinClass capsule and a TinClass capsule made from 100% recycled tin (Virtuo). The footprint of the conventional capsule was determined through an independent life cycle assessment (LCA) conducted in 2024 in collaboration with Deloitte. The carbon footprint of the recycled tin capsule, conversely, is an estimated value based on data provided by a supplier of 100% recycled tin material. The 12.5% reduction in carbon footprint is based on a comparison between a crown cap with a polyethylene liner and a cap featuring a cork liner. The environmental impacts of both caps—the one with the polyethylene liner and the one with the cork liner—were determined through an independent life cycle assessment conducted in 2025 by Consilia Associati. ↩︎
