The European Food Safety Authority has published the report on samples taken in 2024 through both random and targeted monitoring programmes
The level, set at 0.0275 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day, was established by the European Food Safety Authority’s expert panel on “Nutrition, Novel Foods and Food Allergens”
The acceptable daily intake remains 15 mg/kg of body weight per day for currently authorized uses, while it has not been possible to establish the safety of other uses for which an assessment had been requested from EFSA
EFSA’s annual report on residues of veterinary drugs in live animals and animal products shows that compliance with legal limits remained high in 2024, at 99.87%
The European Food Safety Authority assessed it, at the request of the European Commission, which will thus be able to fill regulatory gaps and inconsistencies
