Birrificio del Ducato announces that Viaemilia, its flagship Italian Pilsner, has obtained SGS product certification officially attesting to its natural gluten-free status.

The Viaemilia recipe remains unchanged; what has changed is the independent confirmation — issued by SGS, a leading international certification, inspection, and verification company — that the product contains less than 10 ppm (parts per million) of gluten. This threshold is stricter than the legal limit (20 ppm) required for the “gluten-free” label. The certification (No. IT26/00000912) is subject to periodic surveillance.
“Achieving this certification from a globally recognized body marks a significant milestone for our company; it reinforces our long-standing commitment to maintaining high quality standards and robust quality assurance processes. This certification allows us to communicate even more effectively to the market the rigor Birrificio del Ducato applies at every stage of its production chain, ensuring maximum transparency for the consumer“, states Marco Maccioni, Plant Manager at Birrificio del Ducato.
The certification is already displayed on the updated product packaging, which is available through standard distribution channels, the brewery’s online shop, and partner venues.
