The decree of May 26, 2026, establishing the conditions and procedures for awarding the Italian organic label, was published in the Official Journal No. 160 of July 13.
FederBio expressed appreciation for the commitment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry and Undersecretary Luigi D’Eramo in promoting policies aimed at supporting organic production.
“The introduction of the Mark strengthens the role of farmers by focusing on Made in Italy organic supply chains at the ‘fair price’, capable of representing the set of organic values: environmental protection, origin of the raw materials, transparency towards citizens, and social equity along the entire supply chain”, said Maria Grazia Mammuccini, President of FederBio. “It also constitutes a distinctive element that helps consolidate trust, traceability, and safety, allowing immediate recognition of foods made with organic raw materials grown exclusively in Italy, thus allowing Italian organic products to stand out and compete internationally”.
