A responsible, transparent and innovative business model that puts people first

Ten years of sustainability told through concrete results, investments, innovation and social responsibility. With the 2025 Impact Report, Ponti celebrates ten years since the first publication of its sustainability report, confirming a path that began in 2015 and has progressively evolved into an integrated vision of the company. Economic growth, environmental protection, the empowerment of people and the development of local areas are combined in a strategic, sustainable and transparent model. The company, a leader in the Italian vinegar and vegetable preserve market, has consolidated its commitment over the years by becoming a Benefit Company in 2021, obtaining B Corp certification in 2023 and UNI/PdR 125/2022 Gender Equality certification in 2024.

“For us, sustainability has never been an exercise in communication, but a way of understanding corporate culture and our role in society – emphasises Vice President Lara Ponti –. Ten years ago, we chose to report on our impact because we believed that transparency, accountability and measurability were fundamental tools for building lasting value. Today, this conviction is even stronger: it means investing in the quality of the working environment, in equal pay and in opportunities for growth, valuing the contribution of young people and women, promoting models of circular economy and regenerative innovation, and fostering a shared corporate culture capable of generating positive impacts on the entire economic and social fabric.

In 2025, Ponti generated an economic value of 116.4 million euros, distributing over 115.3 million euros along the production chain and to stakeholders, employees and communities. Particularly significant is the growth in resources allocated to people and the local area, with donations increasing by more than 20% compared to the previous year.

The milestone of the tenth year since our first Impact Report represents an important step in our entrepreneurial history – says Chairman Giacomo Ponti –. In recent years, we have shown that sustainability and competitiveness can grow together. We continue to invest in industrial innovation, quality, safety, efficiency and international development, always keeping the link with the people and the regions in which we operate at the centre.”

In 2025, the Group invested a total of 9.6 million euros in production expansions, new plants, digitalisation and technological efficiency. The main interventions include the launch of a new department for the production of cider from fresh apples and the expansion of wine storage capacity at the Ghemme plant.

On the environmental front, Ponti has reduced the waste produced by 12.3% and the plastic used in packaging by 7.5% (-92 tonnes). The energy intensity of production processes improved by 1.7%, with 100% of the electricity coming from renewable or self-produced sources. The three photovoltaic plants in Ghemme and Anagni produced over 880 MWh, avoiding 388 tonnes of CO₂. Water efficiency improved by 2.7%.

Over 50% of the food raw materials were purchased from local Italian suppliers (within 300 km of the plant sites), ensuring excellent ingredients, traceability, a reduction in the impact of transport and support for the economic and employment development of the communities.

The Report also highlights the evolution of sustainability governance within the Group. In this context, a dual materiality analysis was initiated, aimed at identifying and monitoring the most relevant issues both in terms of the economic and financial impact on the company and with respect to the social and environmental effects generated by the Group’s activities, in line with the requirements of the European CSRD legislation. In addition, the ESRS standards are progressively integrated into the company’s reporting system to ensure transparency and consistency in the communication of data. At the same time, Ponti has launched a scientific initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, developed in collaboration with the University of Milan and Spinlife, a spin-off of the University of Padua, with the ambitious goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040.

The social and organisational results confirm that people are at the heart of Ponti’s business model. Today, the Group has 206 employees, with 96% on permanent contracts and women accounting for 42% of the workforce. Pay equality is firmly established, thanks to the elimination of the gender pay gap, whilst the company continues to promote female leadership in roles of responsibility and governance.

It is not just about equality: Ponti also invests in wellbeing and work-life balance. In 2025, 38 smart working agreements were put in place, allowing for flexibility and a better balance between work and private life. The focus on health and safety at work has resulted in fewer accidents compared to the previous year, with the process towards ISO 45001 certification continuing and set to be completed by 2026.
