Recognition of Italian know-how also comes through entrepreneurial stories capable of combining tradition and vision. Among these is Giacomo Ponti, President of Ponti Spa Società Benefit, who was awarded the “Maestro del Made in Italy” Award today in Rome. The Award Jury selected him for the food category, recognizing his contribution to promoting the excellence, expertise, and innovation that distinguish Italian manufacturing worldwide.
The Award, promoted by the Fondazione Imprese e Competenze per il Made in Italy – established in 2024 by decree of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and Merit and the Ministry of Economy and Finance – recognizes the work of entrepreneurs capable of transforming tradition into economic and social value, strengthening the country’s prestige and the prestige of Italian manufacturing internationally.
“Receiving this recognition is an honor that I wish to share with all our company’s employees, who contribute to our excellence every day“, stated Giacomo Ponti. “Being awarded the title of Maestro del Made in Italy means taking on the responsibility of preserving and perpetuating a manufacturing identity founded on quality and integrity. In this journey, experience represents the most precious asset: it is our duty to ensure that the knowledge gained over two centuries of history continues to be a source of inspiration and innovation for future generations“.
“The Maestro del Made in Italy Award today recognizes individuals who do not simply create businesses, but who preserve, pass on, and reinterpret precious knowledge. They are the protagonists of a journey that combines tradition and innovation, helping to strengthen and spread the identity and quality of Made in Italy throughout the world“, emphasizes Giovanni Brugnoli, President of the Made in Italy Business and Skills Foundation. “This recognition not only celebrates achievements, but above all the ability to generate the future by developing new skills, fostering a culture of doing, and promoting a business model based on responsibility, creativity, and an international vision“, he concludes.
The awards ceremony was attended by national institutions, with speeches by the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, and the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, as well as representatives of the business world and a group of students from Made in Italy high schools.
