The manufacturing sector faces numerous challenges: abrasion, impacts, vibrations, contact with oils and aggressive substances, the need for controlled flatness, heavy traffic, and the continuous reorganization of production areas. To address these needs, IPM Italia develops systems tailored to the condition of the substrate and the specific operating conditions of the facility. These solutions combine mechanical strength, rapid installation, and ease of maintenance, while also allowing for application on existing surfaces — thereby minimizing demolition, waste disposal, and plant downtime.
Among the solutions offered, IPM Color Flake combines industrial performance with decorative aesthetics; it provides high mechanical strength, scratch resistance, and ease of cleaning, striking an effective balance between durability, visual appeal, and operating costs. The flakes embedded in the resin help mask wear and dirt while enhancing the brightness and comfort of production environments. The system is available in various color combinations, allowing for the integration of corporate branding elements and facilitating space organization through color-coding and integrated signage. IPM Stratos is a multilayer epoxy solution designed for surfaces subject to heavy traffic and mechanical operations, whereas IPM Blindo is intended for the restoration of flooring that is severely damaged or contaminated with oil, avoiding the need for complete demolition of the existing surface. Alongside these options, IPM Italia offers systems specifically for heavy industry and logistics areas, such as IPM Durtec; featuring elastic properties and resilience that make it resistant to wear, gouging, and impact, it is particularly well-suited for surfaces exposed to heavy traffic and intense mechanical stress.
Solutions designed to meet the needs of diverse production environments
A significant example of the use of these various systems is found in the projects carried out for the companies of the SILIKOMART Group — an enterprise active across the entire professional high-end pastry supply chain, ranging from plastic molding and silicone mold production to the creation of the finished confectionery product. Over time, IPM Italia has supported the Group’s growth by working on production areas, offices, canteens, and changing rooms, as well as on subsequent expansion projects.
At SILIKOMART’s new production facility, for instance, approximately 2,000 square meters of seamless flooring were installed using the Tecnireg and IPM Color Flake systems; these provide durability, ease of cleaning, and a high-performance, decorative-style finish that aligns with the brand’s premium image. The project also involved the conversion of existing industrial units characterized by significant level differences and oil-contaminated substrates: through a preparatory leveling process, IPM Italia technicians corrected imperfections and blended disparate surfaces without disrupting production operations.
Within the group, IPM Italia carried out work on the mechanical workshop using the 2mm IPM Stratos Oil system across approximately 620 square meters of production space—an area characterized by immovable machinery and flooring saturated with industrial oils. Thanks to specialized mechanical surface preparation and the use of a dedicated primer capable of ensuring chemical adhesion even on hydrocarbon-contaminated substrates, the project was completed quickly while keeping the production area operational. Meanwhile, at DAVE in Mellaredo di Pianiga—another company within the group specializing in confectionery and chocolate production — IPM Italia installed the 2mm IPM Stratos system. This project was executed in two phases and included the complete removal of the old resin, surface restoration, and the subsequent application of the new coating. Organizing the work in separate stages made it possible to optimize both the schedule and operational efficiency.
