Easy AI, created through a collaboration between the designers at CM3 Engineering and the artificial intelligence experts at NET Informatica, is an artificial intelligence specifically trained to provide assistance to the operator

CM3 Engineering has developed Easy AI, an AI assistant integrated into filling and capping machines. It is a domain-specific artificial intelligence, i.e. an artificial intelligence trained specifically to provide assistance to the operator. It only responds to requests concerning the operation of the machines.

It can explain a procedure, retrieve a video, indicate which add-ons are available for the machine, guide the operator step-by-step through a format changeover, or clarify the meaning of an error code and its possible causes.

The “customer first” philosophy

Alessandro Gattuso, CEO of CM3 Engineering and NET Informatica

The “Easy AI” assistant project was born at the end of 2025 from an idea by Alessandro Gattuso, CEO of CM3 Engineering, who was looking for a way to bring “the expertise of manufacturers to the end customer’s premises”, i.e. to offer his customers a support service directly at their place of work.

Easy AI is not an artificial intelligence added to an industrial machine. It is an integral part of the system. It was designed and trained based on the knowledge of those who conceived, built and tested those machines. The Easy AI system, in fact, was born out of a collaboration between the designers at CM3 Engineering and the artificial intelligence experts at NET Informatica, the other company founded by Gattuso, which in recent years has also been focusing on developing AI projects for businesses.

The project reflects CM3 Engineering’s “customer first” philosophy, which places the customer at the centre of every stage, from design to production, from sales to support. The aim is to develop solutions based on the real needs of machine users, not on abstract technical specifications.

How it works

Industrial AI interface on a steel arm

Easy AI automatically detects the language spoken by the operator and responds—both in writing and verbally—in that same language. It provides the operator with a knowledge base built from manuals, diagrams, images, and documentation of the most frequent requests previously handled by CM3 support. This allows it to offer real-time guidance on common issues, directly while work is underway. The operator can query the system using natural language—the same words used in everyday communication—without interrupting the production cycle.

Control remains with the operator

The system helps retrieve the necessary information, but the operator always retains control over operations. Easy AI does not independently modify machine parameters, nor does it make decisions on behalf of the user. It simplifies training and complements the support service—which, however, remains fully available for tasks requiring a specialized technician.

Data safeguards

Easy AI is connected via the internet to the CM3 Engineering headquarters to receive periodic updates or upgrades. Data and customer requests submitted to Easy AI are neither shared with the company nor used for training purposes. The assistant is fully compliant with applicable European regulations regarding artificial intelligence and the protection of personal data.
