Glass closures: Vinolok presents its new Pharma collection

Six new glass closure designs, inspired by laboratory and pharmaceutical glassware, expand the packaging options for premium spirits

Vinolok presents Pharma, a new collection that combines traditional glass-making craftsmanship with a contemporary aesthetic inspired by pharmaceutical and laboratory glassware. Designed primarily for premium spirits, it has been created in response to the growing popularity of bottles with wide necks and shapes reminiscent of traditional pharmacy bottles.

The aesthetic of so-called ‘pharma’ bottles is playing an increasingly significant role in the world of premium beverages. A wide neck, clean lines and references to laboratory and pharmacy containers define a recognisable and distinctive visual language. Pharma interprets this trend through a range of closures, designed to enhance and complement this particular type of bottle.

For Vinolok, glass is a natural choice for this aesthetic expression. The neutrality of the material and its distinctive characteristics have, in fact, underpinned the company’s philosophy since the brand’s inception. The new collection interprets this inspiration through a contemporary design, conceived to meet the needs of premium brands and offer new expressive possibilities.

“The closure is one of the elements of the bottle that the consumer notices, touches and interacts with directly”, says Radan Haiblík, Sales Director at Vinolok. “As well as its practical function, it can play a significant role in defining the product’s identity and brand communication. The Pharma collection develops this concept through a distinctive design and extensive customisation options”.

Six types, six interpretations

The range comprises six new models – Ago, Opus, Sol, Philos, Atlas and Vista – each of which offers a distinctive interpretation of the inspiration drawn from laboratory glassware.

Sol stands out for its soft, rounded lines, whilst Opus features a wide top surface, designed to showcase personalisation. Philos and Atlas are characterised by more robust, geometric proportions. Vista has a tall, slender silhouette, whilst Ago adopts a compact, minimalist approach.

The project was developed in collaboration with the Barcelona-based studio DSIGNTANK, combining its expertise in design and trend forecasting within the premium packaging sector with Vinolok’s established know-how in the artisanal crafting of glass.

Personalisation and identity

Like other glass closures, the new collection also offers numerous options for decoration and customisation, including stickers and metal medallions, printing on the top, coloured sealing rings, and transparent or opaque coatings available in a range of colours.

The various options can be combined to reflect the character of a specific brand and enhance the bottle. In this way, the closure can play a distinctive role within the packaging or blend harmoniously into the product’s overall visual identity.

Vinolok closures are recyclable, as confirmed by an independent assessment carried out by Circpack® by Veolia on a transparent closure, which was awarded ‘Ready to Recycle’ certification and a Class A recyclability rating.

With Pharma, the company is thus expanding the creative possibilities offered by its closures, whilst keeping at the heart of the design the material identity that has always distinguished the brand: glass.
