Checking a liquid level does not always simply mean knowing whether a tank is full or empty. Many industrial applications require identifying multiple thresholds, monitoring temperature, and using a device that can be configured according to the system’s specific characteristics.
This need led to the creation of the IEG-INOX-DN_-PN_, the new electromagnetic level indicator from F.lli Giacomello, a company specializing in the design and manufacture of liquid level indicators.
This new model expands the company’s range of immersion-type indicators with an AISI 316 stainless steel solution, featuring a flanged connection compliant with UNI EN 1092-1 (type 05A or 05B) and available in various configurations as outlined in the order specifications.
Up to three checkpoints
The operation of the IEG-INOX-DN_-PN_ relies on the interaction between the float and reed switches positioned at predetermined points.
As the float moves, upon reaching a control point, the magnet housed inside it actuates the reed switch, causing it to open or close. The resulting signal can be transmitted remotely, allowing the liquid level status within the tank to be monitored.
The configuration can include one, two, or three control points with SPST or SPDT contacts, thereby enabling the management of different thresholds within the same tank.
Level and temperature in the same device
Liquid temperature monitoring can also be combined with level monitoring.
The IEG-INOX-DN_-PN_ can be configured with a PT100 sensor to detect temperature fluctuations, or with a thermostat that activates upon reaching a preset threshold.
This makes it possible to integrate the monitoring of two key parameters — level and temperature — into a single device for managing the fluid contained in the tank.
A range of configurations for different application requirements
The new indicator is available with flanges ranging from DN 10 to DN 100 and in pressure classes specified in the technical documentation—ranging from PN6 to PN40—depending on the selected configuration.
Dimension A can be specified between 110 mm and 3,500 mm, further expanding the device’s range of applications for tanks with varying dimensions.
The number and type of monitoring points, electrical connection, float, and temperature sensing system can be determined by selecting from the various configurations listed on the order sheet.
