Under the theme Inspect. Protect. Comply., Mettler-Toledo will demonstrate how product inspection can help food manufacturers strengthen product safety, quality control and compliance

Mettler-Toledo will showcase its latest food inspection technologies at Cibus Tec 2026 under the theme Inspect. Protect. Comply., demonstrating how food manufacturers can inspect their products with confidence, protect consumers, brands and profits, and comply easily with retailer, regulatory and audit requirements on modern production lines.

Taking place from 27 to 30 October 2026 at Fiere di Parma, Cibus Tec will see Mettler-Toledo present a focused product inspection line-up in Hall 02, Booth M014. Technologies on show will include an M50 R-Series AdvancedLine metal detector, which will make its Italian debut, alongside the X13 x-ray inspection system and CM3350 combination system. Visitors will also be able to see first-hand how inspection technologies work in the Mettler-Toledo Demonstration Van, positioned outside the exhibition hall.

Italian Debut for the New Metal Detector Series

The Italian debut of the M50 R-Series will be a key highlight for manufacturers looking to improve metal detection performance without adding unnecessary complexity to production. Designed to support reliable metal contaminant detection and rejection in demanding food applications, the system helps production and quality teams maintain control at Critical Control Points while keeping lines running efficiently.

A new 10.1 inch capacitive touchscreen provides an intuitive user experience and works even when users are wearing gloves or when the screen is wet. The new INFINITY Electronic Test System represents a significant advance in routine testing, automating essential processes and improving productivity. Brand protection is enhanced through new Radio-frequency identification (RFID) access control which supports individual user logins, with instant access to on-screen details in the user’s preferred language. These latest metal detectors include secure connectivity, and deliver the most sensitive, compliant, and future-ready metal detection platform from Mettler-Toledo to date. Even with these new and advanced features and functionality, ease of use has remained at the centre of the design.

Built around three core pillars of performance, productivity, and protection, the M50 R-Series supports manufacturers in delivering safer products by detecting the smallest of metal contaminants, keeping good products moving, and protecting more than just the product.   Its appearance at Cibus Tec gives Italian food manufacturers the opportunity to see the system first-hand, speak with product inspection specialists, and discuss how metal detection can be applied to their own products, packaging formats, and production challenges.

Inspecting a Wide Range of Foreign Bodies

Mettler-Toledo will also showcase the X13 x-ray inspection system, offering visitors the chance to explore how x-ray technology can support foreign body detection and product quality control in unpackaged, bulk flow applications.

The X13 is designed to help manufacturers detect and reject a wide range of dense contaminants such as metal, stones, and glass as small as 0.3 – 0.4 mm, depending on the application and contaminant material. Reject options include a 30-nozzle air blast or 6-flap pusher reject. This high-performance inspection and rejection capability protects downstream equipment, minimizes risk of costly product recalls and supports compliance with global safety standards. Typical applications include dried, fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables, nuts, pulses, confectionery and cereals.

At Cibus Tec, the X13 will demonstrate how x-ray inspection can form part of a broader product inspection strategy, particularly for manufacturers handling complex products, challenging formats or applications.

Combined Inspection in a Compact Footprint

For manufacturers looking to bring multiple quality checks together in one space-efficient system, Mettler-Toledo will present the CM3350 combination system. By combining checkweighing and metal detection in a single solution, the CM3350 helps manufacturers verify product weight and check for metal contamination at a single inspection point. This can support compliance with food safety and weights and measures requirements, while helping to reduce product giveaway, minimise rework, and improve line control.

For food producers working with limited production space, changing pack formats or high output targets, combination systems can provide a practical way to strengthen inspection without adding unnecessary complexity to the line.

Bringing Inspection Expertise Closer to Manufacturers

Alongside the technologies on the stand, the Mettler-Toledo Demonstration Van will be positioned outside the exhibition hall, giving visitors another opportunity to explore product inspection solutions in a more hands-on environment.

The Demonstration Van reflects the practical Mettler-Toledo approach to customer support, bringing technologies, expertise, and application advice directly to manufacturers. Visitors will be able to discuss their own production challenges, from contaminant detection and weight control through to audit readiness, data capture, and long-term service support.

Visitors to the booth can also book the Demonstration Van to visit their manufacturing site.

Your Partner in Precision

Under the Inspect. Protect. Comply. theme, Mettler-Toledo will show how its proven product inspection solutions support more than end-of-line quality control. For food manufacturers, inspection technologies play an important role in reducing risk, improving visibility, protecting profitability, and providing the evidence needed for audits and customer requirements.

This approach is central to the Mettler-Toledo role as Your Partner in Precision. From technology selection and installation through to testing, performance verification, training, and ongoing service, the company works with manufacturers to build product inspection programmes that reflect real production needs.

Food manufacturers are under constant pressure to protect product quality, meet customer and regulatory requirements, and keep production moving,” said Roberto Scanu, Product Inspection Business Area Manager, Mettler-Toledo Italy. “At Cibus Tec, we will show how product inspection can help them do all three. The Italian debut of the M50 R-Series is an exciting moment for our team and gives visitors a first-hand look at how advanced metal detection can support reliable contaminant control without adding complexity to the line. Together with the other technologies we will be showcasing, it brings our Inspect. Protect. Comply. theme to life.”

Visitors can meet Mettler-Toledo at Cibus Tec 2026 in Hall 02, Booth M014, with the Demonstration Van located outside the exhibition hall.
