{"id":241902,"date":"2026-09-30T10:58:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-30T08:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alimentibevande.it\/uncategorized\/filiera-bufalina-firmato-il-decreto-istituire-il-registro-unico-del-latte\/"},"modified":"2026-10-09T11:22:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T09:22:08","slug":"buffalo-milk-supply-chain-decree-signed-for-the-unified-milk-registry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alimentibevande.it\/en\/food-safety\/buffalo-milk-supply-chain-decree-signed-for-the-unified-milk-registry\/","title":{"rendered":"Buffalo milk supply chain: decree signed for the unified milk registry"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida<\/strong>, has signed the <strong>implementing decree<\/strong>\u2014mandated by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gazzettaufficiale.it\/eli\/id\/2026\/05\/14\/26G00089\/SG\">Law 75\/2026<\/a><\/strong>\u2014establishing a single <strong>registry for the movement of buffalo milk and its derivatives<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new <strong>traceability system<\/strong>, integrated into the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sian.it\/portale\/\">National Agricultural Information System (SIAN<\/a>)<\/strong>, will collect and correlate data on the movement of buffalo milk and its derivatives, making it possible to track flows across the various stages of the supply chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The system will also be interoperable with the <strong>National Livestock Registry<\/strong>, allowing for the cross-referencing of herd size information with declared production data. Parties using imported milk or derivatives will be required to declare this in the registry. Furthermore, the registry will distinguish between <strong>milk flows destined for <em>Mozzarella di Bufala Campana<\/em> PDO<\/strong> (Protected Designation of Origin) production and those intended for other products, thereby ensuring that the PDO cheese is made exclusively from milk meeting the specifications set out in the product
