{"id":240088,"date":"2026-09-02T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alimentibevande.it\/?p=240088"},"modified":"2026-08-31T09:27:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-31T07:27:49","slug":"automated-packaging-robotic-arm-with-ai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alimentibevande.it\/en\/featured\/automated-packaging-robotic-arm-with-ai\/","title":{"rendered":"Automated packaging: robotic arm with AI"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Automated packaging<\/strong> is an essential component of the food industry, thanks to its ability to improve operational efficiency, precision, safety and the adaptability of production processes, as well as to reduce errors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this context, the aim of a <strong>recent study<\/strong>, carried out by a group of Ecuadorian researchers (<em>Cerecerez et al.,<\/em> 2025), was to develop an advanced robotic arm designed to <strong>package chocolates<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>results <\/strong>demonstrate that the integration of <strong>artificial intelligence<\/strong> enables the system to successfully identify and sort various types of chocolates, significantly <strong>improving the efficiency of the process<\/strong>. The authors highlight the arm\u2019s ability to place the product evenly into the trays, thereby increasing productivity, reducing human error and maintaining the quality of the packaging. However, the algorithm\u2019s effectiveness was found<strong> to be sensitive to fluctuations in lighting conditions<\/strong>. This sensitivity underscores the crucial role of precise camera calibration and adjustment prior to commencing the configuration process \u2013 an essential step in minimising detection errors and ensuring accurate product labelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bibliography<\/strong>: G.
