{"id":238026,"date":"2026-06-08T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alimentibevande.it\/?p=238026"},"modified":"2026-06-05T13:05:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T11:05:12","slug":"protection-consortia-a-ministerial-decree-has-been-published","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alimentibevande.it\/en\/food-safety\/protection-consortia-a-ministerial-decree-has-been-published\/","title":{"rendered":"Protection Consortia: a ministerial decree has been published"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry<\/strong> has published Decree <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masaf.gov.it\/flex\/cm\/pages\/ServeBLOB.php\/L\/IT\/IDPagina\/24673\"><strong>ref. no. 264637 of 3 June 2026<\/strong><\/a>, containing &#8220;General provisions on the establishment and recognition of <strong>Protection Consortia <\/strong>for protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications of agricultural products and foodstuffs pursuant to <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/it\/ALL\/?uri=CELEX:32024R1143\">Regulation (EU) 2024\/1143<\/a> of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 April 2024&#8243;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the <strong>new features<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>in addition to the traditional activities of protection, promotion and supervision of the Consortia, there is the <strong>regulation of supply<\/strong>, the<strong> promotion of tourism linked to PDOs and PGIs <\/strong>and the adoption of voluntary forms of <strong>environmental, economic and social sustainability of production<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>with regard to the requirements for the recognition of Consortia and representativeness in corporate bodies, <strong>the criteria for three-year confirmation have been redefined <\/strong>with differentiated thresholds for specific supply chains;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the possibility of establishing <strong>Consortia dedicated to multiple geographical indications<\/strong>, including those belonging to different supply chains.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;With this decree,&#8221; said the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, &#8220;we are strengthening and modernising the role of the Protection Consortia, taking an important step forward for the promotion, sustainability and protection of Italian products with geographical indications&#8221;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry has published Decree ref. no. 264637 of 3 June 2026.
