{"id":238012,"date":"2026-06-05T10:59:37","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T08:59:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alimentibevande.it\/uncategorized\/residui-di-fitosanitari-nel-2024-solo-l12-di-non-conformita\/"},"modified":"2026-06-05T11:06:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T09:06:09","slug":"pesticide-residues-only-1-2-non-compliance-in-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alimentibevande.it\/en\/food-safety\/pesticide-residues-only-1-2-non-compliance-in-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Pesticide residues: only 1.2% non-compliance in 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>Ministry of Health<\/strong> has published the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salute.gov.it\/new\/sites\/default\/files\/2026-05\/2024%20_relazione%20annuale%20sui%20residui%20di%20pesticidi.pdf\">report on official controls on pesticide residues in food for 2024<\/a><\/strong>.<br><strong>11,188 samples<\/strong> were taken (1,252 on import and 9,936 domestically), and <strong>135 samples were found to be non-compliant, equal to 1.2%<\/strong>.<br>The sampling covers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>53.6% fruit and vegetables (5,997 samples)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>14.6% cereals (1,636 samples)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10.3% oil and wine (1,155 samples)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7.6% meat (856)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4.6% milk and dairy products (513)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2.3% eggs and egg products (253)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>0.85% baby food (95 samples)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>0.8% fish<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>0.68% honey<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4.6% other products<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9,079 samples are of Italian origin, 378 are of European origin, 1,690 are from third countries, and the origin of 41 is unknown.<br>6.5% of the samples (726) are organic, and 9.9% (1,104) were samples taken following previous non-compliance.<br>59.5% of the samples were residue-free, while 39.3% contained residues within the limits established by Regulation (EC) 396\/2005.<br>The percentage of irregular <strong>fruit and vegetable<\/strong> samples was 1.4%, with 85 samples. The number of residue-free samples was 2,612 (43.5%), while the number of samples with residues within the legal limit was 3,300 (55%).<br>Regarding the <strong>cereal <\/strong>results, 18 samples (1.1%) of the 1,636 samples were found to be non-compliant. Furthermore, 67.5% of the samples were <strong>residue-free<\/strong>, while 31.4% contained residues within the limits.<br>Only 0.8% of the <strong>oil and wine <\/strong>samples were found to be non-compliant, equal to 9 samples. The percentage of samples free of residues was 66%, and that of samples with residues within the legal limits was 33.2%.<br>The <strong>baby foods <\/strong>tested were all found to be compliant, and only four samples had residues within the legal limits.<br>Finally, no non-compliance was found in <strong>milk, fish and honey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Health&#8217;s report has been published.
